Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is the translation of printed material into machine-editable text. In other words, BMI has the ability to scan a printed book and place the content into a program where it can be edited, tagged, or otherwise manipulated.
NIMAS tagging allows titles to be converted into Braille and other products for students with disabilities. Many of our elementary and high school publishers require NIMAS (National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standard) tagging of their content in order to meet the requirements of textbooks for state adoptions.
