About the Author

Author Dr. Patrick L. TraynorDr. Patrick Traynor earned his Ph.D. degree in Educational Administration at the University of California, Riverside. His dissertation was on classroom management. His Bachelor of Science degree was earned at the University of California, Davis and included a double major in Nutrition Science and Entomology. In his over 15 years of experience in the field of education, Dr. Traynor has been a middle school principal, elementary school principal, middle school assistant principal, elementary vice principal, high school science teacher, elementary school teacher, and cub scout den leader and cub master. He is currently Director of Language Support in Colton Joint Unified School District in San Bernardino County, California. Dr. Traynor has also been a Lecturer at the University of California, Riverside in the Graduate School of Education. He has been published in the areas of classroom management and instructional technology in educational journals including Education, Journal of Instructional Psychology, Learning and Leading with Technology, and Education California (EdCal). His article, “A Scientific Evaluation of Five Classroom Order Strategies” won the Special Merit Award from the journal, Education, in 2002.

He is married to Dr. Elizabeth Traynor, a board certified neurologist with a private practice in Orange County, California. Dr. Elizabeth Traynor has given talks to the medical community on Adult Attention Deficit Disorder, Tourette’s Syndrome, strokes, and has served on Saddleback Memorial Hospital’s ethics committee. The Drs. Traynor have two children in the public school system.
